Given the evolution of today’s sports industry, athletes are becoming ’plug and play’ pieces in a board game whose only objective is winning. With the heavy focus on individualistic branding through social media and NIL, many athletes lose sight of the ‘team’ aspect of their sport. Even more tragic is the lack of instruction in fundamentals and consistent player development. Legacy Athletic Fund will focus on how to navigate the new landscape, while emphasizing the individual player’s athletic and character development. This approach supports our premise that successful athletes of high character are best prepared to offer positive influence.
Legacy Athletic Fund will offer programs across a broad spectrum of football player development, from Professional to grade school athletes. Our ‘Pro Cycles’ program will lead the way and focus on college and professional level players. We intend to extend similar opportunities to high school and younger players, focused on age-appropriate instruction intended to prepare each group of athletes for the next level of competition. Legacy Athletic Fund’s Player Development program will shape well-rounded players who thrive both on and off the field.

Our Why
Since Flag Football was announced as an Olympic Sport (Los Angeles, 2028), opportunities to play, for boys and girls of all ages, have exploded across the USA and the World. Despite its exponential growth, there are still a number of states that have not ratified GFF as an official high school sport. Our organizational preamble outlines our primary ‘lines of effort’ as Build Better People and Build Better Athletes. GFF will allow LAF to begin its pursuit of both – through player development and helping grow the game.
Our Vision
As the game continues to grow, LAF intends to focus on the expansion of GFF at the organic high school level (as opposed to ‘travel’ or All-Star teams). LAF will help facilitate the expansion of high school level GFF to all 50 states, by…
• Offering ‘skills camps’ to assist with individual and team player development
• Providing exposure for athletes seeking College Scholarship opportunities
• Conducting a series of clinics to help certify coaches and officials where shortages may be impeding the growth of the game
• Establishing Regional tournaments across the country, culminating in a National Championship Tournament in Nashville
• Establishing a future grant program to assist schools in overcoming any barriers to participation (eg, coaching stipends, equipment, uniforms, etc)

For over 30 years, one of the most-cited statistics in Youth Sports is that 70% of children stop participating in Youth Sports by the age of 13. Various studies quote a more recent term… the ‘Professionalization of Youth Sports’ as a reason why. Regardless of the reason, Legacy Athletic Fund understands the importance of sports in the development of life skills. In recent years, multiple organizations have begun to focus on helping correct this trend by emphasizing ‘fun’ as a critical element of participation.

Legacy Athletic Fund seeks to return the focus to access and participation, instead of selective competition and compensation. We want to promote growth of participation at the grassroots level within local communities, through...
• Parent engagement on ‘supporting your athlete’
• Implementation of a ‘coach at home’ program
• Providing access to equipment and funding
• Promoting the use of player councils to administer leagues
• Education on the benefits of being a multi-sport athlete
